Join us for another night of live music featuring Apt. A. The Olney-based trio known as Apartment 2A plays sets filled with and inspired by the
styles of 60s and 70s pop/rock. The group includes Michael Occhionero (guitar, piano, vocals), Laura Evans (vocals, percussion), and Keith Evans (bass).
During an Apartment 2A set, expect to hear an eclectic mix of favorites, by bands such as the Shirelles, The Beatles, The Beach Boys and the Stones, as well as more contemporary performers such as the White Stripes, the Strokes and the Arctic Monkeys. What gives the band its own unique spark, however, are its hummable originals, written by Occhionero, which capture the universal experiences of attraction, separation, loss and renewal in fresh and relatable ways. Apartment 2A plays often at venues around Montgomery County, including in Olney, Rockville and Gaithersburg. Michael Occhionero can also be found playing with the local duo, Two the Hard Way, as well as experimental indie group, Dr. VonFiend. He’s recorded three albums as a solo artist, most recently 2022’s Crooked Little Smile streaming on Amazon, Apple Music, Spotify and YouTube. Laura Evans has spent most of her life singing in one group or another in a wide variety of musical styles. She has been playing drums for more than 8 years and can also be found behind the kit with the band 909. Since July 2023, she has been enjoying the opportunity to contribute both percussion and vocal harmonies in Apartment 2A. As well as his work with Apartment 2A, Keith Evans also plays bass with local band the Hodgepodgers.
